This coming Friday a Fischer Random (Chess960) match between Magnus Carlsen and Hikaru Nakamura will start at Høvikodden outside Oslo, Norway. The (impressive) prize fund is just under $200,000. The English-language commentary, powered by Chess.com, will be provided on site by GM Yasser Seirawan and IM Anna Rudolf.

The 16-game Chess960 match between Carlsen and Nakamura has a total prize fund of 1.5 million Norwegian kroner ($191,083/€155,868) with 60 percent going to the winner, and 40 percent to the loser of the match.

Norwegian national broadcaster NRK will cover the event live on television.

On the first four days (Feb. 9-12) they will play two games at a time control of 45 minutes for the first 40 moves and then 15 minutes for the rest of the game, without increment. The score for these games will be two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero for a loss.

The match will be played in the Henie Onstad Art Center at Høvikodden outside Oslo in Norway, from Feb.9-13. On the museum website the event is placed in the category "performance," with the games being "part of the retrospective exhibition Dag Alveng - Still time."

For the entrance fee of 120 NOK ($15.29 / €12.47) the center is facilitating activities for the audience, tours, and workshops. The first three days are already sold out.

“Xeque-Mate”: Este é maior hambúrguer de Portugal !

Nasceu em Vizela, na Chess Hamburgueria, e tem “apenas” 2.100 kg. Quem o comer em menos de 25 minutos não paga. Voluntários?

Os recordes, quando nascem, são para ser batidos. E esse é o propósito dos proprietários da Chess Hamburgueria, no coração de Vizela, que todos os anos se empenham em bater um recorde que, pelo menos desde 2014 já lhes pertence com distinção. Falamos do maior hambúrguer de Portugal, que se encontra na carta com o impressionante peso de, nada mais, nada menos, de 2.100 kg. São dois quilos e cem de ingredientes, um desafio individual ao alcance de poucos, com a boa notícia de que pode ser consumido sem pagar, caso o cliente o consiga comer em menos de 25 minutos.

O já famoso “Xeque Mate” leva dentro de um impressionante pão de cereal com 23 centímetros de diâmetro 1.100 kg de carne de hambúrguer, sementes de linhaça e chia, frango grelhado, molho de iogurte, tomate grelhado, courgette, beringela, cogumelos Portobello, alface, queijo fresco e cebola roxa. Um festim para o palato, com a vantagem de, apesar da dimensão, ter poucas calorias e muitos vegetais, que o tornam, dizem os proprietários, numa opção grande, mas saudável.

O anterior recorde pertencia também à Chess Hamburgueria, localizada na Rua Nova do Fórum, 316, (Tel. 253 583 231) e tinha 1,620 kg. Na altura assumiam também a vertente saudável do prato e garantiam que apenas tinha 1200 calorias, o que, caso fosse consumido por quatro pessoas dava praticamente 300 por cliente. Já agora, em termos de comparação, um hambúrguer simples da mais conhecida cadeia de “fast food” mundial tem 98 g de carne, e 240 calorias.

Da ementa da Chess Hamburgueria constam outras propostas de hambúrgueres, naturalmente de menores dimensões, sempre feitos com a melhor carne de novilho e servidos em pão rústico, wrap ou no pão tradicional da Madeira, o bolo do caco. Há ainda propostas de salmão e de frango e até vegetarianos. Arriscam-se a afirmar, quando se fala de acompanhamentos, de terem as melhores batatas fritas da cidade.

Regressando ao “Xeque-Mate”, o maior hambúrguer de Portugal, custa €25, e, como já foi referido, há a possibilidade de ser consumido sem pagar, caso o cliente o coma em menos de 25 minutos. Além de não ver a conta, fica ainda com o nome imortalizado na parede do estabelecimento. Não é nenhuma missão impossível. O atual recorde está em 21 minutos. Voluntários?
