Jorge Ferreira 4º em Budapeste

O Sub-20 Jorge Ferreira, Campeão Nacional por Equipas da 1ª Divisão e Vice-Campeão Nacional Individual Absoluto, participou em Budapeste num torneio fechado a duas voltas , de 6 jogadores.

Um forte torneio com uma média de ELO de 2437 !  

O Jorge conquistou 2 vitórias e 6 empates, tendo somente perdido 2 jogos. 

Não atingiu o objetivo de conquistar a sua 1ª norma de Grande Mestre, mas conseguiu sair de Budapeste com mais 2,6 pontos de ELO.

First Saturday Chess Tournaments for Norms

Realizou-se de 6 a 16 de setembro uma nova edição do First Saturday Chess Tournaments for Norms em Budapeste na Hungria.

Depois da participação do David Martins em agosto, foram agora 5 jovens do Grupo Principal da Seleção Nacional de Jovens que marcaram presença: 

• Henrique Aguiar da AEJ S. João da Madeira, em torneio para norma Mestre Internacional

• André Sousa do GX Porto
• Gonçalo Silva do Sporting CP 
• Maria Inês Oliveira do AAD-NX Vale S. Cosme em torneio para Mestre FIDE

• Rita Jorge do Sporting CP em torneio B para Mestre FIDE

Os 5 jovens foram acompanhados pelo treinador Sérgio Rocha que os acompanhou nestes torneios de todos contra todos de 12, 11 e 12 jogadores respectivamente.

O André Sousa venceu o torneio para Mestre FIDE, com um total de 11 jogadores, conquistando mais de 120 pontos de Elo. O jovem Sub-14, posicionava-se em 6º dos 11 jogadores em termos de ranking de entrada e fruto dum grande torneio!

No mesmo torneio, a Maria Inês Oliveira finalizou em 5º lugar, com um ranking de entrada em 9º, tendo sido um resultado bastante positivo. 

A Rita Jorge, no torneio para Mestre FIDE B teve igualmente uma prestação muito positiva, terminando em 4º lugar .

O Henrique Aguiar e o Gonçalo Silva tiveram prestações abaixo do esperado, não conseguindo evitar a maior experiência dos adversários.

Peter has chosen the Anti-Meran System, which is Anand's prefered weapon but with Black! 5...Nbd7 6.Bd3 dxc4 7.Bxc4 b5 8.Bd3 Bb7 9.a3 b4 10.Ne4 Nxe4 11.Bxe4 bxa3 12.0-0 Bd6 13.b3 Nf6 14.Nd2!? The pair of bishops means a serious advantage in positions like this (symmetrical pawn structure, the central pawns are absent) and Black cannot easily build a fortress on the queenside because of the too advenced a6-b5 pawns. We have to mention that the time pressure helped neither the attacking nor the defending side! Time-wasting calculations of variations or a sure and longtime advantage in the endgame?
